Sebego: Letshwiti equally to blame for mess

Sebego said this after Letshwiti accused his predecessors of not taking football forward in the last 51 years.

“For the past 51 years, what have we done for football; nothing!” he has said. “We have got no story to tell for our 51 years of football. We have run football and played for all these years, but where is the result? In places I have visited so far, football is in a depressing state.”

“We have not been focussed as the BFA. We cannot develop football under these circumstances,” Letshwiti said after he toured the regions recently.

But Sebego, asked to react to the statements, said it was “immature and very unfortunate” for Letshwiti to have made such claims.

“He has been part of the football system for the longest (time) and therefore, what he says directly reflects his contribution during his substantial period of his involvement in football. Leaders don’t talk like that, it’s very uncultured,” Sebego said.

Letshwiti has said there is a lot to be done before football reaches the right levels.

He beat Sebego in a tight contest in 2016 and has said he will be in office for only four years.
