Longterm deal: Nare

Longterm deal: Nare

Miscellaneous spokesperson, Edwin Ntau said the club has tied a long-term contract with Nare who resumes duties with immediate effect.

“We want him to be what Arsene Wenger is to Arsenal and what Sir Alex Ferguson was to Manchester United. We have Chico with us for a lifetime; that is how our contract is,” he said.

Ntau said with Nare’s experience, they believe they have the right man to lead the club to perennial championship battle after two seasons. He said Nare will bring along with him his technical team.

“Our target is to return to a top eight finish this season and every season after, we want to start battling for the championship, which we intend to win in the long run and Chico is shrewd and he is the right man to lead us to glory.

“We want him to also select the technical team that he would wish to work with so that he has a team with common interests and technical discipline around the squad.”

He said the club only has seven players with running contracts and the future of the rest of the players rests upon the new coach.

The seven players are Aobakwe Tshobo, Resaobaka Thatanyane, Kamogelo Molemogi, Chiko Molefe, Fortunate Thulare, Gofaone Tapologo and Pako Osupile.

Ntau said trials began yesterday for players to prove themselves to the coach.

He said they have a recommendation from Nare for the recruitment process and the players he wants at Miscellaneous.

“As of now, we are running helter-skelter to try and secure the core of the team that the coach has recommended and that is about six seasoned players.”

Ntau also said the club is in advanced talks with a financier and they expect to launch the sponsorship deal ‘very soon’. “As much as we are held to reveal the players we are after until we secure them, we can’t also reveal who the sponsor is until the sponsorship launch.”

Efforts to reach Nare for comment were futile as his mobile phone was off at press time.
