The trio of Chidzani Mokgwebe, Otsile Moses and Boago Mosarwane reportedly assaulted Masogo during a party activity early this year. Masogo reported the matter to police and it was subsequently taken to court.

However, during a court appearance in October the trio asked the court to postpone the matter as they were exploring reconciliation with Masogo.

Since the October court appearance Masogo is said to have expressed unwillingness to meet his alleged assaulters.

Mmegi has now established that the attorneys for the warring parties have arranged for a meeting next week Friday where it is expected that a reconciliation agreement will be reached, meaning that the matter might be withdrawn from court.

“Yes it is true that we will meet next week where we will discuss our differences. An attorney from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions’ (DPP) has notified me about the meeting with the three men who assaulted me as well as their representatives,” Masogo said.

Kgosietsile Sechele represents Moswaane’s supporters while the DPP’s Archie Makgoa is prosecuting on behalf of the state.

Masogo, who at one point vowed that he would not forgive Moswaane’s supporters, now appears to have softened up his stance against his alleged assaulters.

“I am willing to forgive them provided they show genuine remorse for their actions. We all make mistakes,” Masogo said yesterday through a telephone.

Yesterday Mosarwane confirmed the proposed reconciliation meeting with Masogo.

“I know about the meeting. It will be held on Friday just moments before our court appearance where I anticipate that the matter will be withdrawn.”

Moswaane’s supporters are expected to appear before a BDP disciplinary committee to answer for charges relating to assaulting Masogo.

The hearing was postponed indefinitely in order to allow them to deal with their court case.
