MYSC building victim identified

 

She is Ashelin Manjeya (20), a Zimbabwean female citizen who was unemployed and residing at Phase 4 location in Gaborone.

It is alleged that on Monday around 12pm, Manjeya visited the MYSC office at the seventh floor of the building asking for one ministry staff and was told that the person was at the sixth floor. It is alleged that she then asked to use a toilet before going down to the sixth floor. It is said the young woman spent over 30 minutes before she allegedly jumped through the toilet window. The Ministry staff was shocked to hear a loud bang of the body hitting the glass ceiling before it went through to the concrete floor where she fell face first.

It is reported that the emergency services were called for a rescue and she was rushed to the Gaborone Private Hospital (GPH) where she was certified dead by doctors on arrival.

In their media release, the police revealed that the deceased’s body is lying at the Princess Marina Hospital awaiting post mortem. Also, investigations are continuing to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
