BCP wants constituency allocation revisited

The BCP secretary general Kentse Rammidi confirmed on Tuesday during a press conference.  Earlier this year, Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) president Duma Boko announced that they have finished constituency allocations.  But that contracting partners were from word go, seemed unhappy with constituency allocation. 

The Botswana People’s Party (BPP), which had been given four constituencies, was vocal in their displeasure and stated then that they had written a letter demanding that their constituencies be increased by another three constituencies. 

At the presser yesterday, Rammidi explained that, “you might find that a certain constituency that has been given to BCP for example, could perform better than us if allocated to BNF, the same thing applies to them.

But we failed to meet because both parties were preparing for conferences. We will meet afterwards. Rammidi added that UDC affiliates would also resolve ward allocation in constituencies that have not yet completed. 

The other constituencies that BMD and BNF are still to solve are Lentsweletau/Mmopane and Moshupa/Manyana.  On other issues, Rammidi said their party would be celebrating 20 years of existence next year and the members would discuss the anticipated activities to mark the event.
