Butler, in a Twitter post, likened the returning of Bright to a ‘dinosaur’. “If you appoint dinosaurs, expect pre-historic ideas and vision,” Butler Twitted on Tuesday. In another tweet, he had said Morupule Wanderers, coached by Bright last season, “has now become the national team feeder group.” Before a sarcastic applause: “What a wonderful idea, well done Masego Ngcingani (Nchingane), you are a revolutionary!”

Bright, preparing the national team for the weekend assignment against South Africa in Francistown, brushed off Butler’s thin veiled attack.

“I don’t focus on such stupid things.  I don’t regard him as a professional and I don’t even know him. I have never spoken to Butler,” Bright said.

Butler, during his tenure, did not hesitate to take to Twitter to attack even his employers. Despite leaving the Zebras job and taking up a new post with South African side, Platinum Stars, Butler has failed to resist the temptation of taking a dig at some former colleagues at Lekidi Centre. He was on course to sign a three-year contract extension before he publicly berated the BFA in post-match comments after the Zebras fell 1-0 to Mauritania in the opening game of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in early June.

Butler did not last long, agreeing to leave his post before Bright was roped in last week.
