Mixed emotions at ESTeRES Boutique Carols by Candlelight

The beautiful day started with the rainbow that stretched through the sky. The rainbow made many believe that it was God watching over all the revelers who saw it fit to support and give time to the 39 people living with disabilities from Thuto Boswa Rehabilitation Centre.

A number of Good Samaritans came out for an evening of caroling, dance and gift giving. Even though there were technical hitches, family and friends that decided to support young people living with disabilities decided not to let them spoil the day and had fun. The success is due to a joint effort of carolers, the artists, volunteers, sponsors and individuals who donated shoe box gifts.

The evening comprised of carols by candle light lead by various local vocal artists such as Abigale Isa, Lee, Zanele Tumelo, Tizzile, Fifi Boleseng and more.

The artists made the children dance their feet off and were able to put smile on their faces. Artist would conduct popular carols while attendees got to sing along with some of their favourite artists.

Bank Gaborone’s Sandra Mokobi did a handover to House of Hope as part of their CSR. In an interview with Showbiz, an events concierge and director of ESTeRES Boutique Agency, Michelle Phetlhe said they were looking forward to reaching out to different charities all over Botswana each year, spreading the spirit of giving nationwide, happiness over the festive period and awareness of different institutions that could use a hand.

“All those who attended the carols made the evening perfect, their time and presence are what made the evening a complete experience which was heart warming and will be a memory etched forever. I continue to encourage CSR and ISR individual social responsibility and this past weekend was proof that these are equally important,” she said.

She pointed out that on Sunday morning they drove out to Thuto Boswa for a handing over of the canned foods that had been donated. She said they were able to raise close to 500 different canned foods.

“The kids came to school to receive them, we had a delicious cake donated by a lovely individual, took pictures, sang more carols, shared more smiles and laughs.

Really a big thank you to all our sponsors, Gabzfm, Phakalane Lions Club, Digi Print, Samsung Brand Store APJ&GC, Pick n Pay, Chicken Xpress, PST, Madume Guesthouse and Bank Garorone we hope you will continue to support this initiative,” she said proudly.
