MYSC fall: It was suicide - Police

“The investigation reveal that Manjeya committed suicide and that they was no foul play,” said the police in a press statement issued today.

The report further says, “Her visit to the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development was purely to execute her suicidal thoughts which she eventually carried out. The investigations further revealed that the deceased neither knew anyone nor was she known at the ministry.”

Manjeya jumped from the seventh floor of MYESCD building through a toilet window and fell by the main entrance at around 12pm on December 4th.

Ministry officials who narrated the story to Mmegi said the young woman arrived at the seventh floor of the building asking for one ministry staff member who is a messenger (name known to this publication) and was told the person is based at the sixth floor.

She is said to have asked to use a toilet before going down to the sixth floor. The young lady is reported to have spent over 30-minutes inside the seventh floor toilet before she jumped through the toilet window.
