Were doing #lalavuka this festive Olopeng

Olopeng made the announcement at the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) press conference in Gaborone on Thursday.

He said the extension will apply during the Christmas and New Year’s Days from December 24th to 26th and from New Year’s eve to January 2nd.

“We are doing hashtag Lala Vuka [#lalavuka] and the new entertainment hours will be extended from 6pm to 6am,” said Olopeng.

The minister added that the extension of hours is meant to avoid road accidents that are mainly caused by people driving at night after the festivals are forced to close at 2am.

He called on Batswana to be vigilant on the roads during the holidays and to not drink and drive.

Olopeng, also known as DJ Tipps when he is on the turntables, has an annual charity music festival in Tonota on December 24 that brings a star-studded lineup of local artists and he always advocate for Lala Vuka around this time.
