The event guide gives a calendar of different types of events that range from entertainment, sports and business to mention but a few taking place around the country. The link to the website is www.whatsonbots.com

“The objectives of this website is to provide access and promote events for promoters and event organisers across the country on an easily accessible platform,” said Tlotlo Moagi who is spearheading the project.

She noted that there has always been a perception that there are no events taking place in Botswana because people did not have a database of information when it comes to events.

However she noted that with the presence of What’s on Bots.Com it is now easy for the public to know what is going on in different locations around the country.

For promoters and event organisers to upload their event content on the website they have to be subscribers.  For the general public they can access the website and view the various events taking place around. For them to receive updates on events taking place they have to be subscribers.

“We have good entertainers and events. This is a platform to help gain more attraction and let people know where they will be performing”.  Despite being a few days old the website already has a number of upcoming events uploaded.

It does not look complicated for users as it directs one to the different types of events that range from concerts, sports, gaming, education, exhibitions, conferences, health, film, tourism and lifestyle.

This platform is one of the first in the country as it gives out an update on the various events taking place in Botswana. However the organisers lacked creativity on coming up with a unique name for this project as it has always been in existence trading under the Mmegi Friday newspaper which serves the same purpose as this website.

Artists such as Tidal Waves from South Africa, Sereetsi and the Natives performed during the launch with later giving thanks to Moagi and the team for introducing the website as it will help artists and other events players to promote their projects.
