The trio of Tokollo, Kabelo and Zwai performed their yester year hits, which turned the atmosphere into an old school party with songs from their different albums that were always festive anthems that carried a lot of memories.

Looking much older, they still have the energy. They performed with a live band and opened up their set with songs such as Phalafala, We love This Place, Magesh and a cover of Tupac Shakur’s Do For Love, which had the whole of Botswanacraft singing along to and dancing.

Despite having not been releasing nor performing in the country for a long time, the trio seemed to be relevant to the audience, which was mainly grown up folks who used to listen to TKZee in the 1990s. As usual, Tokollo and Kabelo delivered raps while Zwai was on vocals, but at times would join his team on rapping.

With time TKZee unleashed the best of the best as they performed one of their most controversial songs Fiesta, which some quarters censored upon its release in the early millennium due to what was regarded as insultive and disrespectful to women. There was a loud cheer and roar from revellers as they performed the classic heat.

Right when everyone was getting comfortable and enjoying the event, TKZee performed the 1998 France World Cup inspired track Shibobo, which featured Benny McCarthy who was not present on stage. The track proved to still be a hit to many people who quickly rushed to sing along and put all focus on the performance of the song, which is almost 20 years old.

While the audience thought the party was still going on after the performance of Shibobo, the trio announced that they were done for the night as they walked off the stage, leaving the audience disappointed asking each other if that was the last performance.

Prior to the kwaito crew, local lad Han C staged what was one of his best performances since he launched his musical career about two years ago. He performed with a live band something that he should keep on doing.

He staged a number of covers such as Love Is Wicked by Brick n Lace and also sampled tracks from his latest album On My Own, which was released recently.

He proved to be a ladies man since most of them were screaming throughout his performance. The young man had a stage performance as he danced throughout and interacting with the audience.

This was the last Mascom Live Sessions for the year 2017. It will commence next year on a date yet to be announced by the organisers.

This year saw the event being headlined by the likes of Sipho Hotstix Mabuse, Selaelo Selota, ATI, Oliver Mtukudzi, Lizibo, Trinity Mpho and Zahara.
