Yesterday, Mochudi Magistrate, Keabetswe Majuta acceded to the state’s plea for more time in the matter that has attracted national attention.

Defence counsel, Karabo Masuku told the court that following discussions with the prosecution, they had agreed to give the police more time to complete their investigations.

“We had discussions with the prosecution and they said they are still investigating and would like the court to give them more time. We agreed that the next mention date should be scheduled in October,” Masuku said. Prosecutor, Tlotlang Balatlhwa confirmed the consent between the two parties.

He said that investigations are still ongoing. Balatlhwa indicated that it would take some time before they wrap up their investigations. “I confirm that indeed we had a discussion with the defence counsel. We are still investigating so we request the court for more time to wrap up our investigations,” he said.

In the previous mention, Balatlhwa told the court that investigators have taken some laptops, cellphones as well as cellphone call records for analysis of communications and the results were awaited.

They trio has been admitted to bail with conditions that include not being in contact with each other and not interfering with investigations and not committing similar offences.
