Membership drive: Miscellaneous want more registred members

At their annual general meeting (AGM) held in Serowe on Saturday, Tse Nala resolved to strengthen their drive for more registered members as they try to source for sponsors.

The club spokesperson, Edwin Ntau told Mmegi Sport yesterday that it would be much easier to push for sponsors when they have a database of their registered members. “We will launch this initiative on July 29. We have decided that members who pay P1,200 annually will be awarded bronze membership.

That is more like paying P100 per month. Those members will receive the home jersey for next season,” Ntau told Mmegi Sport. He said silver members will pay P2,400 per year and will attend all Miscellaneous’ home games in a season.

Gold members will receive home jersey and will be able to attend the home games for free. They will pay P3,600 per year. The highest payment is P10,000 per year in which such members receive both the home and away jerseys as well as being able to attend all Miscellaneous’ matches for free.

Ntau said despite assembling a good squad last season, they faced financial challenges and ended up in position 11. The previous season, they had finished on position six.

“Our aim this coming season is to return to the top eight,” he said. He said they should be able to announce the new coach for the coming season by Friday. They are currently without a coach following the departure of Russia Chaba. “We are talking to few candidates and hopefully we will have a new coach by Friday.

The players report for pre-season on July 10 where they will be informed about who will leave and who will remain with the team next season,” he said. Ntau said with the arrival of the coach, they would be able to start recruiting players to beef up the squad based on what the new coach prefers.

With the deadline fast approaching for Premier League clubs to comply with Club Licensing, Ntau said they would be able to meet the deadline. “We just need to beef up what has already been done. We still have an issue with the ground. We have asked the BFA to write on our behalf to request for the Serowe Sports Complex from the Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC), which is the custodian of most football facilities in the country,” he said.

Meanwhile the club has retained Seiphetho Sefhako as the chairperson. He will be assisted by Musa Morapedi while Orapeleng Mosiamise and Jacob Monyeki are secretary and vice secretary respectively.

Tapologo Tshimologo is the treasurer while Ntau also retained his position as the public relations officer.

Bakazi Seoganeng and Edwin Letamo are the marketing manager and the welfare manager respectively. Bathusi Mosweu and Sketho Tuelo join the executive committee as additional members.
