Stanchart opens second priority branch

The Mowana Park branch brings the total number of SCBB’s branches across the country to 21.  The bank’s only other priority branch is located in the Central Business District and is open only to priority banking members.  The Phakalane branch, however, will also be open to the general community. 

Speaking this morning, SCBB CEO Mpho Masupe said the opening is a good achievement as it demonstrates that the bank continues to expand its footprint and is bringing services and products closer to communities. 

“We are poised to share new products and enhanced offerings, new services and greater integration across segments all of which are aligned to our global push to create efficiency and convenience to our clients through innovation and digitalisation,” he said. 

Last year the bank witnessed a 70% year on growth in the priority segment, which the SCBB says is strong confirmation that the platform has potential in the market. 

Guests at the official opening included Standard Chartered Bank global head (retail distribution) Kariuki Ngari, top Bank of Botswana officials, banking sector dignitaries and others.
