BPL defends Gilport�s use of Lekidi

BPL chief executive officer, Thabo ‘Styles’ Ntshinogang said the pitch meets Premier League standards. “The dimension meet FIFA requirements, it has an artificial turf and is fenced,” Ntshinogang said when asked yesterday.
It will be the first time the Botswana Football Association facility hosts a top flight match. Lekidi, has however, hosted first division matches, with Notwane taking some of its home matches there. Lions have been in the news for the wrong reasons after 16 players dumped the club citing contractual violations, leaving the team with only nine players. Their league matches in December were postponed to allow the side to sign more players in the current transfer window.
But Ntshinogang has warned the club that it has to fulfill remaining fixtures, otherwise the matter would be escalated.
“We are still doing our investigations. If they fail one more time to fulfill a fixture, we will be left with no option but to take the matter to the next level,” Ntshinogang said.
