Township Rollers

The league champions have been quick off the blocks after signing South African dribbling star, Tshepo Matete on a two-year deal. Popa have also acquired the services of full back, Thabo Leinanyane who had a splendid season with Jwaneng Galaxy, on a three-year deal.

The Blues have also secured the services of lanky defender, Obuile Ncenga and striker, Kekaetswe Moloi on two years and a 12-month  contract extension, respectively. Rollers are said to be in talks with vice captain, Joel Mogorosi, whose contract ends today.

The club is said to be looking to bring Zebras striker, Onkabetse Makgantai on loan from DRC’s side AS Vita, while Black Forest’s Thatayaone Kgamanyane and Nico United’s speedy winger Lovemore Bogatsu are also on the radar.

Tanzanian striker, Rashid Mandawa is set to conclude his transfer next week as he undergoes trials at the team. Rollers have released Ontlantshekela Mooketsi and Kobamelo Kebaikanye who spent last season on loans at Extension Gunners and BDF XI respectively.

 

Gaborone United

After enduring a disappointing season, the Reds have bolstered their defence with the acquisition of Namibian defender, Kennedy Amutenya on a two-year deal. Moyagoleele have also secured the services of bully centre back, Godwin Bonsu as he penned a tow-year extension.

A mass player exodus at the club saw Lerato Botshelo, Thato Ogopotse, Tshepo Maikano and Gosegonna Molapisi shown the door. Gaborone United (GU) are also chasing the services of Mogorosi as coach. GU mentor, Rodolfo Zapata has declared his admiration for the winger.

 

Orapa United

The Ostriches missed on clinching a double last season.

However, they have kept coach Madinda Ndlovu for a further two years. Ndlovu lured Miscellaneous anchorman, Tapiwa Nyamanjiva on a three-year deal. The Zimbabwean’s arrival saw Kemmy Pilato and Nelson Moreetsi and Khumoetsile Kufingwa shown the door just after six months at the club. They are expected to conclude the signing of Kebaikanye in the coming weeks.

 

Jwaneng Galaxy

The Mascom Top 8 champions are one of the busiest clubs on the transfer window as they prepare for the continental assignment next year. Galaxy have signed Botshelo Mafoko from Sankoyo Bush Bucks as they look set to lose the attacking duo of Thabang Sesinyi and Thero Setsile.

Galaxy, who have released Morris Rusivo, are targeting Patrick Kaunda as his replacement. Galaxy are also chasing the services of Gunners’ duo of Oabile Makopo and Thabiso Mabachi.

 

Black Forest

The rookies had a splendid first season in the league but missed out on the top eight spot by a whisker.

Magoleng have invited Eleven Eagles duo of Thuso Monyama (defender) and Moloadi Thalefang (striker) for assessment. The club is set to lose goalkeeper Michael James, Kgamanyane and Lynoth Chikuwa who impressed in their maiden season.

 

Notable Deals

Botswana’s British export, Renei Batlokwa has signed a professional contract with Southend United. The 19-year-old penned a one-year deal with an option of an extension as he looks to break into the first team. Meanwhile, Rollers’ goalkeeper Mwampule Masule is a target of South African side, Black Leopards. Thabang Sesinyi is said to have impressed on trails at Platinum Stars and might sign after the COSAFA Cup while Mpho Kgaswane survived a massive player overhaul at Baroka FC.
