The duo started their business in 2010 with inspiration from what Dambe dubbed the spirit of the ‘Ghetto’ people who ‘work hard’, hence the brand.

Dambe told Arts & Culture that they are working on rebranding. They want to change from Ftown We Go Hard Clothing to just Go Hard Clothing.

He said that Go Hard Clothing will be for Batswana as a whole compared to their first initiative, which was solely focused on their Francistown market.  “Go Hard is for everyone now, and not just Francistowners,” said passion-driven Dambe.

Inclusive of the label merchandise are caps, sweaters, hoodies and t-shirts. Dambe said they aspire to provide a full solution clothing range from top to bottom, these include socks, pants, beanies and bucket hats to be added later.

He said they have also created a BW Go Hard Clothing label, which has a wider target and bigger population.   “The brand has already created caps of which the popular NY selling caps were an inspiration,” said 29-years-old Dambe. He added that people could purchase caps branded acronyms of other countries. Describing their business etiquette, Dambeemphasised their love for quality. He said they deliver quality merchandise, which has proved a bit of challenges for them as they struggle to find reliable suppliers that maintain their quality standard.

“We distribute our merchandise with the help of Rootical Boutique in Francistown and we’re in collaboration with Real Legends who distribute our merchandise in Gaborone,” said an elated Dambe. He indicated that proper business management is key.
