Makhubu, Radisele dominate BISA games

The two schools qualified after the North Central Zone games held here over the weekend.

In volleyball, Radisele and Boipelego junior school proved they meant business when they qualified for the finals in both the boys and girls categories. Boipelogo emerged winners again in the boys basketball followed by Makhubu, while Bakwena Kgari junior school won the girls category followed by Makhubu.

In softball, played at Mowana Park and Selebi-PhikweTechnical College grounds respectively, Mmashoro junior school dominated followed by Makhubu in the boys category while in the girls category, Sefhophe junior school came first followed by Mogorosi.

Lebogang junior school proved to be a force to reckon with when it came to rugby. They qualified for the finals emerging top in the boys and second in the girls category. Mowana junior school came second in the boys category and first in the girls category.

Netball saw Mokobeng junior school get position one followed by Makhubu.

Residents of Selebi-Phikwe flocked the Nico, Recreation, Phatsimo, Makhubu and Joseph Anderson Primary School grounds to witness great moments of football. In the Under-15 boys category, Lebogang got position one, followed by Mahalapye, while in the girls, Radisele emerged winners followed by Sesholo. In the Under-17 boys category, Mmashoro finished first ahead of Ramokgonami junior school, while in the girls category Radisele got position one followed by Mothamo.

In boxing, 16 schools participated, with seven senior schools and nine junior schools. Out of the 16 schools, 42 boxers qualified for the nationals; 33 boys and nine girls.

North Central Zone organiser, Sugar Obonetse said the games went according to plan.

He said they achieved their set targets.

However, Obonetse said they encountered a few challenges amongst them, transportation. He said some schools shared transport and that caused delays especially on the first day.
