The two are alleged to have had misunderstanding when the bar was closing around 10pm. The suspect then stabbed the deceased with a sharp object on the neck in front of eyewitnesses.

After being stabbed, the deceased attempted to run away only to collapse and die at a nearby Dineo Liquor Restaurant. The body of the deceased is at Sekgoma Memorial Hospital morgue awaiting post-mortem.

The accused was arrested at his homestead in Mokwena ward the same night.

In another case the Serowe police on Sunday arrested a man (30) and two women aged 25 and 26 years old for possession of dagga.

The trio was arrested at a police roadblock at the Prisons junction. They were found in possession of 60 grammes of dagga packaged in small sachets hidden in the car boot under the spare wheel.

Superintendent Molefhe Molefhe of Serowe police said following their recent raids, the drug traffickers have moved from their traditional selling points, homes to selling from cars.

“We have embarked on a stop, question and search operation and we are setting sporadic roadblocks around Serowe in an effort to fight drug peddling,” he said. “We have started arresting the peddlers and we will continue with different approaches of fighting drugs.”
