FRANCISTOWN: Former Township Rollers and Orapa United midfielder Lovemore Murwira has signed for Sua Flamingoes on a short-term deal.
In recent weeks Murwira has been linked with a move to TAFIC. However, those close to the player have indicated that he opted for Flamingoes because he was offered a better deal.
“We have signed him until the end of the season.  He is an experienced and talented player.  We want to use his expertise to boost our chances of gaining promotion to the elite league,” Flamingoes chairperson, Rebagamang Sekgekge said.
Murwira has in recent months been showing a glimpse of his old self since joining First Division North (FDN) rookies, Calendar Stars at the beginning of the season after he was shown the door by Orapa United.
Murwira trained with TAFIC for some weeks prior to the start of the season, but was not offered a contract.
The former ECCO City Greens man is seen as an ideal replacement for Mbatshi Machongo who has returned to TAFIC.  Machongo made a cameo during TAFIC’s weekend clash against Extension Gunners at the Francistown Sports Complex.
