Robete hitmakers wrap up tour next month

“The workshop tour resumed from last year. The project covers 15 villages and towns. So far 10 places have been visited.

The project ends this February with five remaining places being Gumare, Letlhakeng, Gantsi, Tsabong and Gaborone,” the band’s frontman, Tomeletso Sereetsi told Showbiz.

He said dates would be announced soon and specified that the last batch will benefit from the experience gained along the way in one way or the other. The workshops would provide practical experience for various learners.

Companies and Intellectual Property Authority (CIPA) as part of the Botswana Folk Guitar Project fund the workshops to the tune of P456,000.

The workshops that started November 21, 2016 are open to the public free of charge for all ages.

The workshops came after Sereetsi & The Natives’ success with the four-string guitar that fed into the mainstream pop culture in Botswana.
