BNF eyes all assigned constituencies

The two -day event was officially opened by the party President Cde Duma Boko. The BNF leadership was taken through several strategic issues and topics by a team of experts from a spectrum of professional fields. A long time legal and political guru facilitated a topic on the party’s Constitution and the roles and functions of office bearers.

On another topic, a retired veteran politician who knows the genesis of the BNF and its ideology, made an impassionate and rich historical presentation on the party’s ideological path, including its past positions and events that have shaped its ideological outlook.

Borrowing from the corporate world, a seasoned businessman who also understands Botswana politics, took the leadership on the third topic of a united party leadership which embraces some corporate transformational and strategic tools like PESTEL and SWOT analysis.

The Botswana Federation of Trade Unions leadership also shared with the party leadership the challenges faced by the workers in Botswana, in both public and private sector. The comrade outlined the poor working and living conditions of workers and the unfriendly labour laws and how the worker inclined party (BNF) can continue supporting the workers for their economic emancipation.

On yet another topic, a professional counsellor soothed the BNF leaders with her remarkable experience in the psycho-social world of relationships, including the turbulent and controversial world of politics. She took the leadership through models of personal conflict resolution strategies and how to effectively and efficiently communicate amongst each other.

The two-day tactical retreat ended with a result driven CC Special Meeting. The meeting discussed logistics of the BNF extended Leadership Forum to be held on the 3rd of February in Moshupa. The leadership also engaged on the forthcoming main event of the year, the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) Dinner dance, Congress and launch planned for the 22nd, 23rd and 24th February 2018 respectively, to be held in Gaborone.

The CC chose Boteti West, in Rakops as the most fitting venue of the forthcoming July, 2018 National Conference.

The party will also attend to a big event in the Jwaneng-Mabutsane constituency where new members will be welcome to the BNF on the 27th January 2018.

The BNF Central Committee emerged from the strategic retreat with a more renewed vow to uphold the party’s 2015 50th Anniversary theme of “Ensuring Unity Now and UDC Victory in 2019”.
