Jealous boyfriend remains behind bars

The court stated that Letsholo is facing a single count of unlawful wounding, supposedly having occurred on December 18, 2017 at Old Naledi, Gaborone.

Letsholo allegedly unlawfully wounded Kediemetse Sebopi by stabbing her with a knife.

Representing the prosecution, Peter Simisani told the court that Sebopi is still fighting for her life at Princess Marina Hospital following the injuries she sustained.

“The complainant is still hospitalised.  I fear that if granted bail Letsholo might once again try to finish her off on her sickbed hence I am pleading with the court not to grant him bail,” Simisani said.

Mmegi learnt that the duo had a misunderstanding prior to the incident after Sebopi tried to call off the relationship.

It is alleged that after stabbing her nine times with a knife, Letsholo later sought Sebopi at the hospital with efforts to finish her off, but was disrupted by the police before he could act.
