The deal was announced early this week at Morupule Mine, with the club receiving P10,000 in cash while P42, 000 will be in a form of advertising space. Massive Brands will handle all the club’s branding.

Wanderers’ patron, Ernest Phiri said it was a blessing to have the community of Palapye on board to help the team achieve its mission of gaining promotion to the Premiership.

“MCM (Morupule Coal Mine) is committed to having Wanderers under its wings but we want to see the club finding ways to stand on its own,” he said. “We are humbled by this sponsorship. We appreciate and we promise it will go a long way in developing sports not only for Morupule Wanderers but for the community of Palapye as a whole,” he said. Massive Brands director, Gorata Difongo said they have evaluated the vision of Wanderers and they see the partnership as a great opportunity of growth for both the club and his company.

“Football covers a broad part of the community and we believe our contribution will go beyond helping the team meet their immediate financial obligations but also touch the lives of the community of Palapye who make a living through football.” Meanwhile Wanderers have appointed their former coach, Thapelo Seitshiro to lead the team in the second round following the departure of Benedict Bayani due to work commitments.

Basimane ba Magala also announced that they would beef up their squad with five players in the January transfer window. Three are from the Premiership and two from the First Division. They look to sign a goalkeeper, a left back, two midfielders and a striker.  Talks regarding the signings are on going but the club was not in a position to reveal progress.
