Maele who is also the Minister of Land Management, Water and Sanitations Services, dismissed the allegations, accusing the media and some people of trying to tarnish his name.

“You should all know that elections are just around the corner and is time to buy votes therefore some people I would rather not mention will do anything to topple me in the coming national elections. What I can confirm to you is that those allegations are not true and may you not dwell on them or loose hope in me for I can never do anything like that.”

Recently there were media reports that the Minister was being investigated after he was allegedly found with P300,000 in cash stashed at his place during the DCEC raid.

Maele dismissed the media allegations saying that he was not aware of the DCEC investigations insisting that there was never any cash stashed at his place.

Meanwhile the Village Development Committee chairperson Tathego Moalefe decried lack of electricity at the clinic.

“We have been pleading for many years now for electricity in our clinic to no avail, even though we all know that some of the health departments can not operate without the electricity additionally there is need for maintenance of the clinic since the building is now old and could pose danger to patients,” he said.

Moalefe further pleaded for renovation of schools especially, especially Maphanane Primary School, which it’s roofing is now falling and could pose health risk to students.

Maele promised the residents that he would take their concerns to the relevant departments. He further said he hopes the P10 million constituency fund, where each village has been allocated P625,000 would address some of the challenges.
