This morning schoolteachers, students and other staff members cheered and sang victory songs in celebration of this great feat.

The excited acting deputy head Tebbica Chiepe, told Mmegi that over and above, the school came third nationally.

“For the past five years we have been appearing in the top 10 nationally but we had never scooped position one regionally nor nationally. In 2016 got position five with 63.5% pass rate. Our pass rate has drastically increased this year and we are very excited about our achievement,” she said.

Chiepe attributed this to the commitment by staff, who together with the PTA, parents, students and other stakeholders worked hard to support the school’s mission to improve its JCE results.

Chiepe noted that victory was made sweeter by the fact that they had to work extra hard to engage parents and other stakeholders such as bogosi to fight social ills.

Chiepe explained that even though their results were satisfactory last year, they set themselves a target of 75% rate, which they nearly achieved. She further pointed out that they intend to break a record by scooping position one nationally this year.

Although Bonnington JSS had no merit, it had recorded nine A’s, seven B’s, 106 C’s, 60 D’s, four E’s and two U’s from 255 students that sat for examinations last year.
