Industrial Court Judges attend training

 

The training is held at Chobe Marina Lodge in Kasane from January 22 to 26, 2018. 

“The court is in the process of harnessing on emerging trends and best judicial practices to improve turnaround times, reduce backlog and further offer labour justice promptly in an accessible manner. This is in line with the court’s commitment to promote the rule of law by providing effective and efficient labour justice in an accessible manner to achieve a robust and relevant system of labour dispute resolution,” the Industrial Court public relations officer, Idah Seoforeng said.

The training will focus on the following topics:

* Case management as an effective tool to minimise delays in case disposal.

* Use of technology to support processing of cases.

* Case flow management and reporting.

* Court Annexed mediation as an effective dispute resolution tool that can be used to dispose cases without adjudication.

The court will conduct the training in conjunction with the Commonwealth Judicial Education Institute (Canada) and the International Law Institute - Africa Centre for Legal Excellence (Uganda). Amongst the Industrial Court Judges in Kasane will be Judges from Uganda, who arrived in Kasane on Monday.
