Chinese firm comes to Gunners' rescue

The sponsorship comes a year after Gunners entered into a management contract with Tsa Gae (Pty) Limited to oversee the running of the club.

Gunners general manager, Ian Kebopetswe said P250, 000 will go towards the operations of the club with the rest set aside for the design of the sponsors’ logo for replicas as well as recruitment of new players.

The two parties have identified exciting midfielder, Mothusi Cooper as the face of the partnership. Cooper's image will appear on billboards displaying Meizu products.

He will in turn receive P25, 000 as his image rights from the company.

'We want to grow bigger than we are now and this partnership will help us achieve that. They also want to grow with us. At the end of the year we will sit down and discuss the way forward. This partnership is renewable,' Kebopetswe said yesterday.

The team's playing kit as well as the replicas will bear the company's name on the jersey's front space.
