Unity is here

In a press statement, information and publicity secretary, Dumelang Saleshando, said party presidents ,Gilson Saleshando (BCP) and Ephraim Setshwaelo (BAM) and their executive committees will address the media about the merger at the Botswana National Productivity Centre building.

'The purpose of the press conference is to report on the progress made with regard to BAM-BCP merger into a  single political party,' said Saleshando.

The press conference is also expected to address the De Beers-BDP-Masire relations and respond to allegations of possible conflict of interest that involves the Minister of Justice, Defence and Security, Ramadeluka Seretse. Saleshando told Mmegi that the party would have one name, one voting symbol and one leader. However, he would not give the new party's name.

'We will discuss that at the press conference. Regarding the party leadership, we will complete everything by the end of May so that at the July congress we would elect a central committee for the party (merger between BCP and BAM).
