Duped legal seekers to register claims

The members are those who have claims against nine law firms that were early last year placed under curatorship for non-compliance.

LSB executive secretary Tebogo Moipolai has issued the statement in accordance with court orders dated July 14 and August 12, 2016 respectively.

“Members are advised to attend at the society as registrations will close on February 23, 2018. The claimants will thereafter invited to meet with the curators,” Moipolai explained.

Claimants have also been advised to support their claims with documents and evidence that there has been a loss or harm as a result of dishonesty by a legal practitioner.

Among the lawfirms the public advised to seek claim from is David and Company owned by Modise David, the lawyer accused of killing former Fairground Holdings CEO, Michael Montshiwa, David was among a group of nine attorneys placed under curatorshiop for non-compliance and practicing without license.
