After serenading fans and sampling songs from his upcoming album over the weekend at Metsimotlhabe Community Hall, Franco said the album will have a unique dance style. His 16th album is set for release in March 2018.

Following his performance on Saturday, the Gabane-born star told Showbiz that his upcoming album would also reflect his maturity as a musician.

“People like the truth, but I don’t want to disappoint them. They want to get value for money, which is why I intend to have a new dance specifically for the upcoming album. I promise, it would be something my fans have never seen before,” said Franco.

He said the album will have six tracks. In one of the songs to be featured in the upcoming album, the musician talks about the incident in which he escaped death by a whisker towards the end of last year when unidentified perpetrators burnt his house and car in Mmankgodi.

Following the success of his previous album titled E ya le nna Babilona, Franco’s fans are eagerly waiting for his next album.

Asked how he has managed to stay relevant over the years when the kwasa-kwasa genre has lost popularity especially amongst the youth, he said working hard and believing in his God-given talent has been crucial.

He said most artists have given up, but the appreciation that his fans have shown to his work has pushed him to do better all the time.

“I pray to God but most importantly I work hard. It is not easy, but it is even more encouraging when people show appreciation towards your music. It pushes you to put more effort,” he added.

The Saturday show featured performances by Tyte, Big Manyora, Tshepo G, DJ Pops, DJ Black Stars and many others and attracted an impressive crowd.
