The pop culture online TV channel will be available for viewing on its website, App and social media platforms.

“This is a youth oriented platform that will broadcast a variety of local content. At the moment we have a couple of productions that we have in-house. We are also looking forward to seeing young producers also submitting their content to us,” Flowetry Media House front man Drew Chadhall said.

He noted that the channel will have content that ranges from art, music, fashion, technology and gaming, travel, food, youth matters, women empowerment, just to mention but a few. Chillstep Live comes at a time when the consumption of online content in the country is still at its infancy stage and the masses are complaining of high expenses of internet data bundles.

“We cannot limit ourselves because people complain about how expensive internet bundles are and that such a platform is still at its infancy. We are trying to push an industry that is overlooked and sell Botswana to the world because the TV channel will be available to everyone in different parts of the world,” Chadhall said.

Next month auditions for the various TV programmes will be held and the channel will go live immediately after the auditions. Both dates for the auditions and the channel going live are yet to be announced.

Chadhall noted that interested film producers can submit their content to be aired on the channel but encouraged them to source for sponsors for their respective productions.

Chillstep Live TV channel will be one of the few local online electronic media platforms. The establishment of the channel is actually a sign of growth in the new media industry.
