Transport hinders double murder suspects court appearance

Tlhofaetsi is currently in custody at Moshupa Boys Prison and was supposed to appear before Village Principal Magistrate, Goodwill Makofi, but could not make it due to lack of transport.

Representing prosecution, Inspector Mogakolodi Pakati, told the court they had arranged with the police to pick the accused person up from Moshupa Boys Prison, but they had no vehicle available to transport him.

“The accused person will be appearing for another murder in this same court on February 14, I am pleading with this court to extend his arraignment to be on that day,” Pakati said.  Makofi acceded to moving the date up.

Tlhoafetsi was recently arrested in Mogoditshane village after a police manhunt.  He was also wanted for assaulting and inflicting serious wounds on a 26-year-old man on the same day of the alleged Ledumadumane murder.

He also has a pending murder case committed in September 2016.
