The platform, which will come in the form of a series of master-classes dubbed ICE Sessions, will be held on July 6.

One of the founders of Nineteen Minutes Media, Tshepo Ntshole, said ICE Sessions is an information-sharing platform for young prospective and upcoming innovators, creatives and entrepreneurs to connect and engage with industry leaders in an intimate and informal setting.

“The main objectives of ICE Sessions are to connect the mentee with the mentor and to create a community of doers that seek to push the boundaries of innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship through the exchange of ideas and leveraging off the connections and networks that come with the community,” she said.

She further explained that the platform was established after realisation that it is difficult for young people to have access to their mentors and role models.

Therefore, she said ICE Sessions intends to bridge that gap and create an environment that allows young people to connect, engage and network with mentors and role models.

“ICE Sessions has intensions of reaching as many youth as possible through this initiative and to ensure that, they have partnered with the Botho University Entrepreneurship Lab (eLab),” said Ntshole.

Botho University eLab project coordinator, Phatsimo Mosimanegape said the entrepreneurship lab was successfully launched in June 2016 with objectives to provide a space where students across the curricular spectrum will come together to share ideas, access resources and come up with innovative approaches to problem solving.

“It aims to promote innovation and entrepreneurship to their student community, encouraging a culture of risk-taking and providing an ecosystem that promotes the ability to think creatively aligned perfectly with the ICE Sessions’ goals and objectives,” she said.
