The DIS reportedly diverted the P250 million that it was sanctioned to use for the construction of fuel storage facilities around the country for the purchase of anti poaching equipment in Israel.

“We have been discussing how best we can approach the matter relating to the returning of the funds. In coming days we will release a statement detailing steps that we intend to take to make sure that the money is returned to the state. As the opposition we have to make sure that we play a significant role in protecting government assets and guarding against corruption,” the BCP president Dumelang Saleshando said when addressing the party’s leadership forum in Palapye over the weekend.

The P250 million is currently subject of a money laundering investigation. Bakang Seretse, Botho Leburu and Kenneth Kerekang have since been charged with money laundering.
