The disciplinary hearing, which the seven suspended members did not attend was supposed to have taken place last Sunday.  Missing at last Sunday’s hearing were party president suspended by the BMD National Executive Committee, Ndaba Gaolathe, his vice president, Wynter Mmolotsi, former Youth League president, Phenyo Segokgo, Kabelo Mahupe, Pako Keokilwe, Women’s League president, Joyce Mothudi and Harriet Rampa.

The letter authored by Modubule dated June 11, 2017 reads: “You were each recently served with a charge sheet dated May 26, 2017 containing various disciplinary charges.  The charge sheet notified each of you of the disciplinary charges brought against each individual, the venue of the disciplinary hearing and the day, date, and time of the hearing.  There was, on the charge sheet, an obvious error in the day of the hearing. The date and time were correct, but the day was not. The correct day was (meant to be) Sunday as the date showed”.

The letter further stated: “The correction aforesaid was, soon as the error was discovered immediately following service of the charge sheet on each of you, conveyed to you by Whatsapp and SMS, and letters further notifying all of the correction were left at the office of the Movement with instructions to staff that each of you should appear on Thursday June 8, be given the letter further informing you that the hearing would take place, not on the Thursday, but on Sunday June 11.”

None of the suspended members appeared at Sunday’s disciplinary hearing, which led to another set of postponement letters being dispatched.

“The hearing was then postponed to Sunday June 18 at 10am at the office of the Movement for the sole purpose of giving a further and final opportunity to attend the rescheduled hearing. You are accordingly warned to appear on time as the hearing will proceed whether you come or not,” reads the letter.
