Dynamos tipped to finish off GU

The Zimbabwe giants come to Gaborone with a comfortable 4-1 lead and the Amakhosi defence stalwart, who said he will be coming to watch the second leg is adamant that there is no way GU will stop Dynamos from progressing to the next stage. The Reds need to win by three clear goals to progress. 'DeMbare is a big team and it has become a tradition that every time they play in this competition, they reach the mini-league phase. So I have no doubt that they will make it even this time,' he told Mmegi Sport.

Dynamos, seeded among the best six clubs in Africa, reached the final of the CAF Champions League in 1998 and the semis two years ago when they overcame three former winners ASEC Mimosas, Zamalek and defending champions Etoile du Sahel. They lost in the semi-final to Cotonsport Garoua of Cameroon.

Sweswe, however, warns Dynamos against complacency despite the healthy lead going into the second leg. 'I know it is highly unlikely that Gaborone United will score three clear goals against Dynamos but that does not mean Dynamos has to be complacent. They need to go there and fight as though they are the ones in need of goals,' he said.

The Harare giants were without their chief striker Cuthbert Malajila owing to a dispute with his former club, Chapungu. The national team striker was set to play the game until a last minute demand by Chapungu for the full settlement of an outstanding $24,000 for the player's transfer. Sweswe believes Malajila's presence in the second leg will make a huge difference. 'Malajila is a good striker and from what I read in the Zimbabwean media, he is likely to play in the second leg. He will certainly make a difference,' he said.
