Family not healing after sibling's death

The police discovered Inose’s body last July at Tsolamosese, known as ‘Tsolamosese block 7’, and suspected he was killed and dumped in a manhole sewage. Then, his neighbours discovered him inside an open manhole after not seeing him for a while at his place where he was staying alone.
Recently, The Monitor team visited Tsolamosese and met Inose’s younger sister, Mosadiko Inose, 58, who disclosed her family’s sad plight.
“You said you are from a newspaper please help us. My family is reeling in pain after the death of my brother who was brutally killed and dumped in a manhole sewage last July. To date, we do not know who killed my brother something that stresses us, more especially my elderly mother who is 93-years-old,” Mosadiko said.
She said that to date the police have never visited their family to update them on their investigation, not even to give them post-mortem results since it has been almost seven months after the tragedy occurred.
It is said that time heals all wounds, but Mosadiko said that to her family it feels like the incident occurred just yesterday because his brother’s death remained unsolved, leaving a gaping unhealing wound.
“Even though my brother was brutally killed, as his family we deserve to be told what transpired. Even if the police are failing to locate his killers, they could at least, once in awhile visit or phone us to update us on their investigations, not to keep quiet.
Ever since the incident, they have never contacted us or visited us to update us on their investigations. It is very painful. We don’t know if we are allowed to ask for the progress of their investigations or not,” she said.
The heartbroken sister said the pain of the loss of their brother remained and as a family they have learnt to live with it, only asking God to help them to keep going.
The deceased’s elderly mother who was quiet the entire time and with a drooping face, she has become the look of pain. Whilst playing with her grandchildren her daughter, in a lower voice, aroused her.
She said: “Go utlwisa botlhoko gore ngwana oka bolawa motlhofo fela jaalo. Mapodise abo a palelwa ke go tshwara babolai ba gagwe, lefa ele gore bolelela gore ditlhotlhomiso di tsamaya jang. Ah ngwanake o sotlegile tota, batho ba mmolaile!”.
Mosadiko shared the same sentiments when she told this publication that she suspected her brother might have been killed for ritual purposes.
“Ah, mo e katswa e le dilo tsa Setswana fela jaaka o bona le mapodisi ba palelwa ke go bona mmolai wa gagwe jaana. My brother was a lovely peaceful person full of life, but his life was cut short instantly,” she said.
Then the police said that after not seeing him for a while, the neighbours went to his house and found the door broken through without anyone inside the house. It was reported that the neighbours searched for him until they found him dead, dumped inside a manhole.
Reached for comment, Mogoditshane station commander, Superintendent Agreement Mapeu said since the deceased’s death they have been busy investigating the case, but they have been hitting a lot of dead ends to arrest the killer(s).
He, however, vowed that the police would work the case until it is solved.
He pleaded with members of the community to assist them in arresting the killer(s). To date they have not received any leads, hence why the police are working tirelessly to find the killer(s).
“Investigations for murder cases like that might take a while to be solved, but the family should not despair. It’s not like we have abandoned the case, we are still working on it,” Mapeu said.
