TAFICs Phiri on half salary

Phiri’s hearing was supposed to take place yesterday, but was postponed.

“The outcomes of a disciplinary process will influence the nature of a full internal disciplinary process we will carry out against him.”

“At the moment he remains on half salary while awaiting the outcome of the Premier League disciplinary process,” TAFIC spokesperson, Warrant Kolola said yesterday.

Mmegi has also established that the player has been barred from training with the team, although he allowed is to attend the sessions.

TAFIC suspended the Zimbabwean defender for slapping Township Rollers’ Edwin Moalosi during a controversy-ridden league match last month.

Phiri, in his defence, claimed Moalosi insulted his parents and called him a ‘mokwerekwere’, a derogatory word referring to a foreigner.  Moalosi denied the accusations.

Township Rollers, meanwhile, also suspended Mthokozisi Msomi and Joel Mogorosi for attacking Phiri after he had slapped Moalosi.

Mogorosi and Msomi will lose a month’s salary for their involvement in the brawl. Phiri, Mogorosi and Msomi remain suspended from all local football activities pending the BPL disciplinary process.

TAFIC coach, Rapelang Tsatsilebe is suspended too, after he was red carded during the tempestuous clash.
