Local Organising Committee (LOC) chairperson, Modisenyane Moreo said they have upped their target from last season’s 15,000.

“Last season we had targeted 15,000 but we exceeded that. This season, if we fail to get 20,000 we will have failed the sponsor,” Moreo said.

Francistown Sports Complex has been chosen as the venue for the third season running.

On the choice of the venue, Moreo said they looked at the capacity of the stadium and the fact that there was no Top 8 action in Francistown during the early rounds.

Meanwhile, Botswana Premier League (BPL) chief executive officer, Thabo ‘Styles’ Ntshinogang announced an incentive for early birds.

Ntshinogang said the first 500 fans to buy tickets will get a P10 discount, between February 19, when tickets go on sale, and February 26.

He said they will soon announce outlets where tickets would be sold, reminding fans that the Top 8 ticket sales differ from those for league matches.

The final will be a replay of the 2016 edition which saw Orapa thump Rollers 3-1. Both sides are looking for their second Top 8 title.
