Police conclude investigations in 'Goromente' case

Appearing before Extension II Chief Magistrate, Batho Kgerethwa today, the prosecution stated that they are currently waiting for the affidavit from serious crimes department.

The prosecution said after receiving the affidavit, they will be ready to refer the docket to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for assessment.

The prosecution also said their investigations have revealed that indeed Zweshe is responsible for the charges laid against him hence their readiness.

Zweshe was arrested and detained for allegedly faking official papers including government documents last year at Tlokweng village.

Following his alleged forgery of any document, Facebook users gave him the monicker, Goromente and the name has since stuck after trending on social media for his felonious skills.

It is alleged that Zweshe is capable of faking marriage, death, birth certificates, driver’s licences, educational certificates or any other document one might think of.

He remains in custody and is due in court on March 5, 2018.
