BOCCIM holds Secretaries Convention

 

The theme for this year's convention is 'Becoming a Team Player for Superior Delivery'. The Convention is designed to meet the needs of secretaries, receptionists, office managers, administrative clerks, and other supporting personnel.  It is also aimed at creating a positive and memorable learning experience that will stimulate the desire for exchange and application of the team skills.

'Looking at today's workforce, our observation is that there is need for more team building initiatives. With today's environment where the world has just experienced an economic crisis, the effort of teams will contribute significantly to the organisations' bottom line.'We often find that the bigger the personal discovery, the larger the commitment to the team goals,' BOCCIM said in a statement.

This workshop is designed to give universal knowledge of current and future happenings worldwide and topics such as achieving High Performance through team work, be a team player in delivering excellent customer service, Achieve goals through teams and more.The guest speaker is Professor Kweku Bentil-Founding Vice Chancellor and President of the Botswana International University of Science and Technology. Prof. Bentil has more than twenty four (24) years of experience as a faculty member and administrator at five institutions of higher education (the University of Florida, University of Washington, Southern University, Indiana State University, University of Miami Dade College. His leadership experience  spans undergraduate and graduate education, institutional advancement, strategic planning, community outreach, student support services, planning and collaboration of resources.

The impressive presenter line-up includes 6 industry experts namely Margaret Baiketsi, Tekolo Maungo Modungwa, Katlego Matlhodi Arnone, Asad Fiona Dereige, Boyce Sebetela.

The Botswana Confederation of Commerce, Industry and Manpower (BOCCIM) is a non-profit business member organisation, established in 1971 and registered under the Trade Unions and Employers' Organisations Act of 1983.
