The awards ceremony is scheduled for June 30 at the GICC.

Mathumo will first contest for the player of the season award against his teammate, Lemponye Tshireletso as well as Jwaneng Galaxy goalkeeper, Anthony Gouws.

The award comes with a P75,000 cheque. All the three players have played crucial roles for their sides with Mathumo marshalling Rollers defence as well as scoring some crucial goals.

Tshireletso’s goals also saw Rollers finish at the top of the league, thus retaining the league title. Gouws, despite falling short on winning the league kept his side in the race until the last but one match of the season.

Mathumo will also battle for the players’ player of the season against Security Systems’ Mcini Sibanda and Jwaneng Galaxy’s Thero Setsile. Sibanda, who was surprisingly released by Orapa United at the end of last season, managed to revive his career at Systems and helping them finish in the top eight in their first ever appearance in the Premier League.

Setsile was also a marvel to watch for Orapa United, even catching the attention of the national team selectors. The winner will walk away with P25,000.

Zimbabwean striker, Terrence Mandaza has already won the Green boot award after finishing at the top of the goal scoring charts with 17 goals.

He takes home P25,000. The battle for the coach of the season award will be between Rollers’ Teenage Mpote, Mike Sithole of Jwaneng Galaxy and Security Systems’ Thaloba Nthaga.

The winner will walk away with P25,000.

Thato Kebue (Chiefs), Kesaobaka Ramotswedi (Green Lovers) and Thatayaone Ditlhokwe (Gaborone United) have been nominated for the young player of the season award where the winner will take home P10,000.
