However it is not all negatives because Empire BW has given fashion enthusiasts a reason to think otherwise.

After successfully hosting the previous two winter fashion shows, Empire BW is back again this year with another 2.0 winter fashion show scheduled for July 1 at Chez Nicholas.

The director of Empire King Dintwe told Showbiz that this year they are celebrating three years of winter fashion shows hence the theme trench and fur coats.

He said unlike the past editions where people would come around and watch models on the ramp, this year they want to merge fashion and lifestyle.

“People think that winter is dull and the fashion is boring but we want to change that perspective,” he said. He said people could still go out during winter.

“We go out during summer and other seasons so we can still apply the same thing in the winter season,” he said.  Dintwe added that they want to make 2.0 Fashion show a culture just like Mercedes Benz Fashion week in South Africa.

“People get excited when these fashion shows approach and we want to create the same excitement and hype here,” he highlighted.  Dintwe said this year’s fashion show would give upcoming designers a chance to showcase their designs.

He said in the past they featured established and well-known brands in the fashion industry.  The main show will feature Jadark Kuvan, Alitess Twins, 1975 by King (in style Edition), Lush Creations, Chalineè, Artisign Clothing, Skeen couture and La Conz Connoisseur couture.

Dintwe further told Showbiz that every event has its own following therefore they want to make the fashion show a weeklong event in the future.

He said as a self sponsored company, they are still working on sourcing funds from MYSC in order to help grow the event.  Dintwe said they are working with their in-house models only and Ciroc has offered to sponsor welcome drinks for their clients.

The early bird ticket is sold at P100, double ticket is P250, VIP is P1,600 (Ciroc Experience, admits four and a bottle of Ciroc with mixers).
