So far so good for Rollers in Sudan

Rollers carry what appears to be a healthy 3-0 lead from the first leg played in Gaborone 10 days ago, but Al Merreikh's record is intimidating.

They have managed to overturn a 3-0 first leg defeat, after overrunning Nigerian opponents, Rivers United 4-0, to progress 4-3 on aggregate.

They were semi-finalists in the 2015 edition, and that should serve as sufficient warning to Rollers.

Reports were rife that the Sudanese side would employ all underhand tactics to unsettle their opponents before the match.

However, speaking to Mmegi Sport early this morning from Sudan, Rollers vice captain, Joel Mogorosi said only good things about their host.

'All is well, we arrived around 3am on Monday and we have been well received,' Mogorosi said.

The team was expected to have a feel of the match venue today, ahead of tomorrow night's encounter. Rollers have failed to make it past the first round of the CAF Champions League, but are well poised to clear the preliminary round hurdle.
