Police suspicious of colleagues� alleged suicide

The station commander of Kutlwano police Neo Serumola confirmed the incident but said he cannot at this stage say whether the 26-year-old police officer had indeed taken his own life or was killed later hanged to make it look like suicide.
Serumola said the deceased’s live-in lover reported the horrific incident around 7 pm telling the police that she suspected that her boyfriend might have hanged himself.
“I cannot say that the deceased killed himself or not. At this moment we have not arrested anyone in connection with the death of the deceased, but we are following some leads.
Right now I am going to attend a meeting about this matter. Our investigations are still continuing,” was all Serumola could disclose when Mmegi spoke to him around 3 pm on Friday.
On Monday, Serumola told Mmegi that their investigations into the matter are still continuing.
“We are questioning three people who are in our custody in connection with the matter. We cannot at this stage say that they are responsible for the matter or not. Our investigations are still ongoing,” Serumola said.
Mmegi, has however, learnt from sources close to the investigation that the deceased’s mouth was covered with a tape and his hands tied to the back.
This has made the investigators suspect that the young policeman might have been killed by someone or some people who later hanged him.
