'Notorious Ncube's passport fake'

Ncube, 36, along with three other accused is facing four counts of armed robbery and one count of cruelty to animals after they allegedly robbed the Chinese of money amounting to P20,000, CCTV system and mobile phones.

After arresting Ncube last month for allegedly absconding court appearances for almost a year the prosecution discovered that Ncube’s passport is fake.

Earlier this month the prosecution pleaded with the court to give them time to verify the authenticity of Ncube’s passport with the help of the Department of Immigration in Zimbabwe.

Giving evidence before Extension II Magistrate Wotho Lechani the Investigating Officer (IO) on the case detective senior superintendent Sergeant Marapo, the deputy divisional CID officer for South Central presented an affidavit from the Ministry of Home Affairs in Zimbabwe stating that the passport that Ncube is using was lawfully issued to Luke Ndoro not Oscar Ncube.

Marapo told the court that Ncube has been misleading the court ever since he was arrested back in 2014 using a fraudulent passport. Ncube is due in court tomorrow for bail ruling.
