DA's Maimane to grace UDC congress

The UDC congress will start on Friday and its launch will be on Saturday at Diphetogo grounds in Gaborone West constituency. One of the UDC affiliates, Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) and DA are fraternal friends. 

The congress is expected to have 2,800 delegates if each party could bring 570 delegates. Each delegate is expected to pay P150 or else they will not be part of the congress.

“It is true Maimane will be attending our congress and launch. He was invited by one of the UDC affiliates,” UDC spokesperson, Moeti Mohwasa said.

Mohwasa added that they have rented 10 buses to be used by delegates at the congress.

“It is difficult to say out the cost because we are still incurring some. We are paying our expenses (with funds) from the gala dinner fund raising and money made from our delegation.”
