KTM Choir supports BOPEU Choir CD launch

KTM Choir will be headlining the festival alongside award winning Gaborone Youth Singers.

Having just emerged in the choral music industry, BOPEU Choral will be following the footsteps of some renowned choirs by launching their music compilation titled Meketeng ya BOPEU CD.

The nine-track CD was recorded last year at Storms Studios.

The BOPEU choral compilation is believed to bring the popular trade union music that its members have long waited for.

According to a press release from BOPEU, the CD will contain traditional songs that are normally sung at the union’s Congress and Annual Conference.

“The songs in this CD are surely rare to find musically and through performance.  For the first time, 36,000 members of the strong union will have the chance to have their rare music as a collectible item, to enjoy from the comfort of their living rooms, or in their cars, and mobile devices,” the press release stated.

It further stated that award-winning traditional music ensemble, Ngwao Setso will also be dishing out the dance repertoires that have made them a reference point in that genre.

“BOPEU choral music could easily become the most selling album, as it becomes available as an item of merchandise through BOPEU's merchandise wing that has mastered the art of taking merchandise items to members over the years,” the choir conductor and event spokesperson, Goitseone Kelebonye added.

Kelebonye said that tickets for the event are available at all Liquarama Stores around the country.

The tickets categories include corporate (table for 10), VIP for 500 singles, and P250 normal.
