Malepa Bolelang's leg amputated after freak accident

The former national team striker reportedly had his leg amputated this afternoon, following the horrific crash.
He was out celebrating his birthday in Somerset, Francistown when a car ploughed into him, leaving the 2007 player of the season badly injured.
According to Francistown City Greens secretary general, Gift Keaitse, Bolelang attended their encounter against GNT on Sunday afternoon and after the match, he invited the team to his house for the birthday celebrations.
As they left the stadium, the team headed to Bolelang’s house. Bolelang and his friends went to buy drinks at Somerset and according to an eye witness, one car drove off from the parking lot, and in the process hit Bolelanga and two of his friends.
The car crashed into a wall, which fell heavily on Bolelang, injuring him on the lower part of the body
The 35-year-old was rushed to Nyangabgwe hospital where he was immediately admitted in the ICU. “He is very critical. His right leg is largely affected and the doctors were contemplating amputating it,” Keaitse said this afternoon.
“We could not believe it because it was just moments after we parted ways at the stadium and we were waiting at his house. We are deeply saddened by this unfortunate accident. He contributes a lot to our team.”
Bolelang has been a loyal Mamoja Diski servant since joining the club in 2001 from Palapye United.
He led the club to the historic league championship in 2007. He had also won a top goal scorer award in 206.
He played for the national under-23 team under the late Sam Sono and Colwyn Rowe later roped him into the Zebras fold. He also played under Stanley Tshosane.
